lovelyandbrown:

omg YES. i definitely was. have you HEARD my voice? sheesh. i STILL get called ‘valley’ by my friends and family. rude.

i mean, people are clowns. just because you speak a certain way, doesn’t mean you are ‘white on the inside.’ i never really took offense to that because back when i was younger, the people who said it to me were just jealous. so eh.

The many times I’ve been called white girl smh

Episode 9x11: "The Vienna Incidents"
Kim: I never knew how much being a mom would change me. It’s amazing how one little person and the love I have for her has brought new meaning to every moment. What once seemed so important, now feels insignificant. It’s like I get to see the world for the first time again, but through someone else’s eyes. It’s a beautiful thing to feel and experience so much more, but with that beauty comes a flip side – seeing through my daughter’s eyes the side of life that isn’t always so pretty.
To be honest, before I had North, I never really gave racism or discrimination a lot of thought. It is obviously a topic that Kanye is passionate about, but I guess it was easier for me to believe that it was someone else’s battle. But recently, I’ve read and personally experienced some incidents that have sickened me and made me take notice. I realize that racism and discrimination are still alive, and just as hateful and deadly as they ever have been.
I feel a responsibility as a mother, a public figure, a human being, to do what I can to make sure that not only my child, but all children, don’t have to grow up in a world where they are judged by the color of their skin, or their gender, or their sexual orientation. I want my daughter growing up in a world where love for one another is the most important thing.

This deserves endless reblogs

This is exactly why I admire her

Someday, someone is going to look at you with a light in their eyes you’ve never seen, they’ll look at you like you’re everything they’ve been looking for their entire lives. Wait for it.

but what if you don’t look at them the same way?

Anonymous said: After I saw that workout video omg I want you to squeeze that ass tight and let me try and slide my dick in that booty mmmmhmmm and you sound like a white girl too oooh making you scream would satisfy my nasty urges

lovelyandbrown:

I’m only addressing this because hopefully it will encourage you to never speak to me or any other woman, especially a black woman, like this again.

I don’t appreciate being objectified. There was nothing sexual about my workout video. I was trying to inspire others and motivate myself to live a healthier lifestyle and work hard.

Telling a black woman that she sounds like a white girl is obviously offensive. Wildly so.

And the sexual tone of this entire message is wholly inappropriate for someone who doesn’t know me. It’s disgusting and demeaning. I felt actually bad about myself and ashamed when I got this, thinking that I had done something wrong to deserve this type of remark in my inbox. But I didn’t and I’m not going to let some asshole like you make me feel bad about myself. Control your filthy urges and don’t ever speak to me in such a manner again. It isn’t tolerated, appreciated, or accepted. I will report you.
